Department of Conservation (DOC) - Surveying and mapping recreational use and value of New Zealand's coastal environment

 

Led by Associate Director Mark Orams with support from Simon Milne, this externally funded project has been awarded to NZTRI as part of a research consortium with Visitor Solutions and Geographic Business Systems.

H & W Williams Memorial Museum Trust

 

The purpose of this research was to assess the concept of a museum at the Retreat - Archdeacon Henry Williams family home in Pakaraka on behalf of the H & W Williams Memorial Museum Trust. This research has allowed the Trust to make informed decisions on the museum initiative before proceeding to a full feasibility study. The research was conducted using a number of techniques, and both secondary and primary research took place. The research also provided the trust with a number of recommendations regarding the museum initiative and the future of The Retreat.

Visitor Strategy research: Orākei Visitor Strategy 2013-2016

NZTRI is working with the Orākei Local Board (Auckland Council) on a research programme that is designed to stimulate local economic activity by raising the profile of the Orākei area as a visitor destination.

 
This Visitor Strategy development is one that will enhance visitor yield, increase the profitability and sustainability of the tourism industry, intensify collaboration between stakeholders, and will focus on engaging stakeholders in developing destination potential.
